"And if the Confederates should come," he said: Abu Sufyan and his companions. "They would wish if they were desert dwellers among the Bedouins," he says: The hypocrites would wish. (1)

17632 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "And if the Confederates should come, they would wish if they were desert dwellers among the Bedouins," he said: They are the hypocrites in the vicinity of Medina, who used to speak about the Prophet. (3)
His saying, the Exalted: "There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern"
17633 - From 'Ata' (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: "I have vowed to sacrifice myself." Ibn Abbas said: "There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern," and "We ransomed him with a great sacrifice," so he commanded him to offer a ram. (4)
[His saying, the Exalted: "And it did not increase them except in faith and submission"]
17634 - From al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "And it did not increase them except in faith and submission," he said: "The trial did not increase them except in faith in the Lord and submission to the decree." (5)
17635 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) he said: Allah revealed in Surah al-Baqarah, "Or do you think that you will enter Paradise?" (6)
His saying, the Exalted: "Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah"
17636 - From Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) he said: We see that this verse was revealed regarding Anas ibn al-Nadr (may Allah be pleased with him): "Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah." (7)
17637 - From Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) he said: My uncle, Anas ibn al-Nadr, was absent from the Battle of Badr and it distressed him. He said: "The first battle in which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) participated, I was absent from. If Allah shows me a battle alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) hereafter, Allah will certainly see what I will do." He then attended the day of Uhud, and Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) met him and said: "O Abu 'Amr!"

وإن يأت الأحزاب قال: أبو سفيان وأصحابه يَوَدُّوا لَوْ أنهم بادون في الأعراب يقول:
يود المنافقون «١» .
١٧٦٣١ - عَنْ قَتَادَة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وإن يأت الأحزاب قال: أبو سفيان وأصحابه يَوَدُّوا لَوْ أنهم بادون يقول: يود المنافقون «٢» .
١٧٦٣٢ - عَنْ قَتَادَة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَإِنْ يَأْتِ الأَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوا لو أنهم بادون في الأعراب قال: هم المنافقون بناحية المدينة، كانوا يتحدثون بنبي «٣» .
قوله تعالى: لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رسول الله أسوة حسنة
١٧٦٣٣ - عن عطاء رضي الله عنه أن رجلًا أتى ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال:
إني نذرت أن أنحر نفسي. فقال ابن عباس: لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أسوة حسنة وفديناه بذبح عظيم» فأمره بكبش «٤» .
[قوله تعالى: وما زادهم إلا إيمانا وتسليما]
١٧٦٣٤ - عَنِ الحَسَنِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وما زادهم إلا إيمانا وتسليما قال: ما زادهم البلاء إلا إيمانًا بالرب وتسليما للقضاء «٥» .
١٧٦٣٥ - عن قتادة رضي الله عنه قال: أنزل الله في سورة البقرة أم حسبتم أن تدخلوا الجنة «٦» .
قوله تعالى: مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عاهدوا الله عَلَيْهِ
١٧٦٣٦ - عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: نرى هذه الآية نزلت في أنس بن النضر رضي الله عنه مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صدقوا ما عاهدوا الله عَلَيْهِ «٧» .
١٧٦٣٧ - عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: غاب عمي أنس بن النضر عن بدر فشق عليه وقال: أول مشهد شهده رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم غبت عنه، لئن أراني الله مشهدًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا بعد ليرين الله ما أصنع، فشهد يوم أحد فاستقبله سعد بن معاذ رضي الله عنه فقال: يا أبا عمرو
