She said: "I choose Allah and His Messenger and the Home of the Hereafter, and I do not need to consult my parents, Abu Bakr and Umm Ruman." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) laughed, then he asked the others to recite the Hujr, and he said: "Aisha said such and such." They said: "And we say the same as what Aisha said," may Allah be pleased with all of them (1).

17653 - Narrated to us Yazid ibn Sinan al-Basri, from Abu Salih Abd Allah ibn Salih, narrated to me al-Layth, narrated to me Aqil, from al-Zuhri, informed me Ubayd Allah ibn Ubayd Allah ibn Thawr, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) who said: Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The verse of choosing (al-takhayyur) was revealed, and he began with me, being the first woman among his wives. He said: "I am mentioning a matter to you, so there is no harm if you do not rush until you consult your parents." She said: He knew that my parents would not advise me to separate from him. She said: Then he said: "Allah said: 'O Prophet, say to your wives...'" until the two verses. Aisha said: "So I said: 'Is it regarding this that I should consult my parents? I choose Allah and His Messenger and the Home of the Hereafter.'" Then he gave all his wives the choice, and they said the same as Aisha had said, may Allah be pleased with them (2).

17654 - From Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to her when Allah commanded him to give his wives the choice. She said: He began with me and said: "I am mentioning a matter to you, so there is no harm if you do not rush until you consult your parents." He knew that my parents would not advise me to separate from him. He said: "Allah said: 'O Prophet, say to your wives, "If you desire the worldly life and its adornment..."" until the completion of the two verses. I said to him: "So is it regarding this that I should consult my parents? I choose Allah and His Messenger and the Home of the Hereafter." And the wives of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) did the same as I did (3).

17655 - From Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) swore that he would forsake us for a month. He entered upon me on the morning of the twenty-ninth, so I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, did you not swear that you would forsake us for a month?' He said: 'The month is like this, and like this, and like this,' and he struck with his hands together, and he closed by holding back one finger on the third time. Then he said: 'O Aisha, I am mentioning a matter to you, so there is no harm if you do not rush until you consult your parents.'" The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) feared her youth. I said: "What is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "I have been commanded to give you the choice," then he recited this verse:
