Then he said: "Which of you will settle my debt on my behalf and be my successor among my family?" He said: So they remained silent, and al-'Abbas remained silent for fear that this might encompass his wealth. He said: And I remained silent due to the age of al-'Abbas. Then he said it a second time, and al-'Abbas remained silent. When I saw that, I said: "I will, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "You!" He said: And I was on that day the worst of them in appearance, and I was dim-sighted, pot-bellied, and thin-legged.

His saying, the Almighty: "And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers."

16016 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, [saying]: 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah the Almighty: "And lower," [meaning]: "Be humble."

And regarding His saying: "And if they disobey you, then say, 'Indeed, I am disassociated from what you do.'"

He said: He commanded him with this, then He abrogated it, so He commanded him with their jihad (struggle/fighting).

16018 - It was mentioned from Muhammad ibn 'Umar al-Kindi, [saying]: Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, [saying]: al-Hasan ibn Salih narrated to us, [saying]: I heard Ja'far ibn Muhammad say: "Dissociate yourselves from anyone who mentions Abu Bakr and 'Umar [in any way] other than with goodness." Allah the Almighty says: "And if they disobey you, then say, 'Indeed, I am disassociated from what you do.'"

His saying, the Almighty: "And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful."

16019 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the mawla of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, [saying]: Zunayj narrated to us, [saying]: Salamah narrated to us, [saying]: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: Meaning: "And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful," [i.e.]: "Be content with Him against the servants."

His saying, the Almighty: "Who sees you when you rise."

[The First Aspect]

He said: "You rise for the prayer."
